Ladies day at Oswaldtwistle Immanuel CCC raises £450

We were delighted to visit Oswaldtwistle Immanuel CCC last weekend to accept a cheque from their fundraising efforts at their annual Ladies Day, which this year chose ourselves as the recipient charity.

Despite the horrendous weather which caused the abandonment of the scheduled cricket fixture on 10th August, the event continued in the Parish Hall adjacent the cricket ground. The heavy rain couldn’t stop the ladies having a fantastic day, and the brilliant sum of £450 was raised for the charity.

It was almost appropriate that our scheduled visit to the ground to be presented with a cheque for the funds raised was again hampered by yet another day of heavy rain and the cancellation of a cricket fixture.

Nonetheless we were delighted to accept the cheque for £450, dodging the showers for the photo opportunity. We even had to drag the ladies away from the local pub!

It was also nice to see the plaque installed next to the defibrillator.
