New defibrillator added to network at East Lancashire Sports Club

We were delighted to finally have a secure cabinet installed at the Dukes Brow entrance of East Lancashire Sports Club, Alexandra Meadows, Dukes Brow, Blackburn recently, having originally been in discussions with the club pre-pandemic back in 2019.

The East Lancashire Club secured funding for the provision of the defibrillator via The Club Cricket Charity via their Defib Fund, who since 2015 have in partnership with the England & Wales Cricket Board, have supplied and distributed over 300 portable units to cricket teams and clubs across the UK. This defibrillator supplemented an existing unit on site stored within the clubhouse.

We are also indebted to the generosity and expertise of the staff and management of L.Banner Electrical Ltd for all their assistance with the power supply and installation of the cabinet, without whom we struggle to add new, secure units onto our network.

The unit at Alexandra Meadows is the 22nd defibrillator we have assisted in supplying, and continue to maintain and manage, on the North West Ambulance Service’s extensive network since 2015. We are indebted to your continued support to enable us to continue our work.

Stay tuned to our website and socials for news of more defibrillators – perhaps there is one coming to a site near you very soon!
