Restart A Heart Day 2024

Restart a Heart Day is observed every year on October 16th and is an annual initiative led by Resuscitation Council UK which aims to increase the number of people surviving out-of-hospital cardiac arrests by helping more people learn CPR.

This day is of huge importance to us as a Charity as it outlines the need for more people in the UK to appropriately trained in Life-saving CPR and indeed Defibrillation.

Survival rates from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest remain low in the UK, with only one in 10 people surviving & this needs to change!

Throughout October, a variety of partners (UK Ambulance Services, Universities, Charities & other public sector community- based organisations & first aid training organisations) come together to increase public awareness of cardiac arrests and increase the number of people trained in CPR and Defibrillation.

In addition to October being an extremely important month in helping us achieve our goal, we’re also delighted to announce that we’ve nearly hit a fundraising total of £70,000

Here’s what Trustee Stuart Maher had to say –

‘It’s amazing what people have helped us achieve in the last 9 & a half years, its an astonishing amount of money which now sees us responsible for supplying and maintaining 35 defibs across East Lancashire.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey, the support really does go a long way’
